Change a Website PHP Version in cPanel Print

  • 0

This guide applies when your AnyKey hosting account provides MultiPHP Manager. Available versions depend on the server and service.

Prepare first

Check the PHP requirements of your application, theme and plugins. Take a current backup and test changes on a development copy where possible. Record the existing PHP selection before changing it.

Change the version

  1. Open cPanel and find MultiPHP Manager.
  2. Select the intended domain. Check its document root, especially when several domains share the same website files.
  3. Choose an available PHP version compatible with the application and click Apply.
  4. Test the homepage, login, contact forms and important application features. Review error messages if anything fails.

If something breaks

Restore the previous version if it remains available, then investigate the incompatible component. Do not leave an outdated version in place as a permanent fix. Ask support if the required version or extension is missing.

Changing PHP does not update WordPress, plugins or themes. Tell AnyKey support your domain, old and new PHP versions, and the exact error, without including passwords.
