Can your domain be transferred?
Check these before you order, so the transfer goes through first time:
- The domain is unlocked at your current registrar.
- You have the authorization (EPP) code.
- You can read the email address on the domain's contacts.
The .SX registry does not allow a transfer when:
- the domain was registered or transferred less than 60 days ago;
- the domain is in its redemption period or pending deletion.

How much does it cost to transfer a .SX domain?
A .SX transfer to AnyKey SX is $20.00 USD and adds one year to your registration. After that, renewals are $24.00 USD per year. Prices exclude applicable tax.
What is an EPP or authorization code?
It is a password for your domain that proves you are allowed to move it. Your current registrar gives it to you, usually in their control panel or by email. Keep it private and enter it at checkout.
Will my website or email stop working?
Not if your nameservers point to your web host: they stay the same during the transfer. If your DNS is hosted by your current registrar, copy your DNS records before you start, so they can be set up again afterwards. Our guide on pointing a .SX domain to your website explains the records.
Does a transfer change who owns the domain?
No. A transfer moves the management of the domain to AnyKey SX. The registrant, the legal owner, stays the same.
Do I lose the time left on my registration?
No. A transfer adds one year to your registration, so you keep the time you have already paid for.
Why can't I transfer my domain?
The most common reasons are that the domain is still locked, the authorization code is wrong or has expired, or the domain was registered or transferred less than 60 days ago. Domains in redemption or pending deletion cannot be transferred either. Your current registrar can tell you which applies.
My domain has expired. Can I still transfer it?
Possibly, if it is still in its 15-day grace period, but it is safer to renew it at your current registrar first. Once a domain enters its redemption period it can no longer be transferred until it is restored.
Do I need to live in Sint Maarten?
No. Anyone, anywhere in the world, can own and transfer a .SX domain.
