DNS records control where your domain points for your website, email, and other services.
Common DNS records
- A Record: points your domain to an IP address.
- CNAME Record: points one domain or subdomain to another domain.
- MX Record: controls where email for your domain is delivered.
- TXT Record: used for verification, email security, SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and other services.
Before editing DNS
Before making changes, confirm what records you need. Incorrect DNS settings can affect your website or email.
After updating DNS
DNS changes may not work immediately. Propagation can take a few hours and sometimes up to 24–48 hours.
If you are unsure what DNS record to add or change, open a support ticket with the record details and AnyKey SX can guide you.
